Health insurance

Regarding a classmate's blog about health insurance, I totally agree with the much needed health insurance for all citizens in Texas. With health insurance, the citizens can feel safe and assure that they will be taken care of when they are sick or hospitilized. We all deserve to have an equal health care system, especially since Texas is so wealthy industrially. Being ranked as one of the most populated stated, but at the same time one of the states with the most insured. This altogether just makes Texas look bad in a waybecause it makes Texas seem cold hearted and neglected about their own people. Isn't that true though? So many people are walking around uninsured, and Texas is not doing anything.

On the other hand, I think that Obama's plan is great! It will give everyone a chance to have health insurance and know that they are covered when they go to the doctor. However, the issue we need to worry is who is this everybody we are regarding to? Will this be the illegal immigrants as well? Not only that, but we have to consider another major problem: money. How much does the health insurance cost? Will it be affordable and reasonable for everyone? In general, I think that a nationwide health insurance is great but we must look at other important details before giving everyone the agreement that they are all insured.

Illegal Immigrants

Illegal immigrants have been a recurring problem for many Southern states, and I feel that this problem should quickly stop with strict enforcement and border control. For some, these immigrants are pulling their heart strings when they are hurt and hospitalized with family apart from them. On the hand, I feel the direct opposite. I can't empathizes for them enough because there are bigger problems that these illegal immigrants have cost many taxpayers in Texas annually. Statistics showed that taxpayers in Texas have to pay an additional $4.7 BILLION DOLLARS annually for the illegal immigrant's education, medical care, and incarceration!!! $4.7 billion dollars that taxpayers in Texas have to put out for illegal immigrants who did not contribute anything for this state of Texas. Instead,we have to continuously help them with our own money. How does that make any sense? It doesn't!! Research also showed that Texans spent around $4 BILLION dollars on education for these immigrants, and roughly about 11% of these immigrants are placed in the public schools. Texans also have to spend$520 million per year for medical care and $ 150 million for incarceration of the illegal immigrants.

I know that many people want to come to America, and maybe one day achieve their dreams and aspiration. However, there is no right way to achieve anything when it all starts illegally. Personally, I don't think any Texans should pay anything for these illegal immigrants because they chose to come here in an illegal mode. Why? I know that paper works and application may take awhile, but the results will be better than hiding from people and avoiding the outside world because they are illegal immigrants. Instead, I think Texas should have a strict border control and strictly regulate the border between the United States and Mexico 24/7. Instead of watching over these illegal immigrants and paying for all of their supplies from the taxpayers' money, why can't we just send them back to Mexico? There should be a legal contract between Mexico and America that entitles the United States the right to send back any illegal immigrants regardless of their health conditions or any other obstacles.

With just Texas alone spending around 4 billion dollars on these illegal immigrants, what would the annual total be for the rest of other southern states? With these money, it could have put in for other better use that our state needs more. Why spend money on something that we can't enjoy and benefit from? Isn't that the first step in learning how to manage your pocketbook? Without any strict regulations, Texas will soon be taken over by illegal immigrants residing all over Texas. Therefore, I urged for the elimination of any illegal immigrants and strict enforcement of the residents in Texas.
